Group Fitness Class Descriptions
AQUA DEEP is a full body workout, which combines cardiovascular, muscle conditioning and interval training from the deep end. This is suited for experienced participants, and can increase range of motion and non-impacting movements.
AQUA FLOW is a gentle flow-based class in the warm water pool, which incorporates breathwork, mindfulness and gentle yoga/ Tai chi and aqua inspired movement to enhance length, focus, and support in deeper relaxation. Not suitable if you are pregnant or with high blood pressure.
AQUA MOVERS Is a low impact, intermediate full body workout, improving your cardio, strength, endurance, posture and flexibility all at the same time. Suitable for all fitness levels.
AQUA WARM is a 30-minute gentle class preformed in the warm pool which focuses on strength, mobility and functionality. Not suitable if you are pregnant or with high blood pressure. This introductory class acts as a perfect foundation for the more progressive and dynamic classes like Aqua Movers and Aqua Deep.
BODYATTACK™ is a high-energy fitness class with moves that cater for total beginners to total addicts. We combine athletic movements with strength exercises such as push-ups and squats. A LES MILLS™ instructor will lead you through the workout – challenging your limits and leaving you with a sense of achievement.
Ideal for everyone, BODYBALANCE™ is the yoga-based class. An inspired soundtrack plays as you bend and stretch through a series of simple yoga moves and embrace elements of Tai Chi and Pilates. Breathing control is a part of all the exercises while you strengthen your entire body.
BODY COMBAT is an exercise class that lets you punch and kick your way towards your fitness goals. Not only is it a great whole-body workout for cardio fitness, but it's also superb for burning fat, releasing stress and improving your co-ordination.
BODYPUMP™ is a barbell workout for anyone looking to get lean, toned and fit, fast. Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, BODYPUMP gives you a total body workout. Instructors will coach you through scientifically proven techniques.
Basic stepping, just like walking up and down stairs, is at the heart of BODYSTEP™ – a full-body cardio workout to really tone your butt and thighs.
BOXING classes combine strength work and cardio conditioning to strike a total body balance with speed and power. Move through different routines and rounds, with bag, shadow boxing and footwork. You will also be hitting your core, cardio, endurance and strength.
CORE is a fitness class designed to increase strength of muscles providing stability for the spine, pelvis, ribs and hips. Walk taller, feel stronger, improve balance, assist injury prevention, and become better at moving with increased core awareness in daily movements. May include a variety of equipment.
CORE & MORE
CORE & MORE is a dynamic fitness class that focuses on full body strength and conditioning, which will tone tummy, hips, thighs. The class involves bodyweight exercises, and functional equipment.
DANCE is a fun, and social class for all levels to try out some fun new dance moves and get a great moderate intensity workout. Burning energy, discovering new rhythm and coordination with friends will allow you to have an absolute ball, while getting a great cardio workout.
GROUP CYCLE is a 45-minute freestyle group cycle class. You are guided by an instructor through both low and high impact workouts. You will riding a combination of hills, flats and high-intensity sprints.
MOMENTUM is your next step above Prime Movers. This low impact class is designed to increase cardiovascular fitness, strength, balance and coordination. Perfect for ages 50+ and all levels of fitness.
PILATES will challenge your strength, flexibility and coordination with traditional and modern PILATES. Performed on the floor you’ll feel strong, streamlined and invigorated after this thorough workout. Pilates has the power to transform your physical, emotional and spiritual state.
PRIME MOVERS is your next step above Staying On Your Feet (SOYF). It is a low impact class designed to increase cardiovascular fitness, balance and coordination. Perfect in supporting the transition to other group fitness classes like Momentum, Tai Chi, Qigong etc
QIGONG is the art of energy cultivation Qigong fundamentals; theory and form work. It draws upon an ancient practise of thousands of years, involving gentle movement, breath control, flexibility, balance, coordination and intention. A great way of maintaining good health and suitable for all ages and typically practised from a standing position.
RPM™ is a group indoor cycling workout where you control the intensity in a fun and low impact way. Your instructor takes you on a journey of hill climbs, sprints and flat riding. Reach your cardio peak, keeping pace with the pack to lift your performance and boost your cardio fitness.
SH’BAM is a fun-loving, insanely addictive dance workout. SH’BAM™ is an ego-free zone – no dance experience required. All you need is a playful attitude and a cheeky smile so forget being a wallflower – even if you walk in thinking you can’t, you’ll walk out knowing you can!
SPIN is an indoor cycling class that has great fat burning effects. It will improve your cardio fitness and endurance while you spin to great music! Helping push you through any of your barriers and achieve the fitness results you want.
LES MILLS SPRINT™ is a 30-minute High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workout, using an indoor bike. It’s a short, intense style of training where the motivation comes from pushing your limits. A high intensity, low impact workout, it's scientifically proven to return rapid results.
SOYF (STAY ON YOUR FEET)
SOYF is ideal to support older adults with current health problems under control through a low impact, chair based program. Designed to increase cardiovascular fitness, strength, flexibility and balance.
STRETCH & MOBILITY
STRETCH & MOBILTIY is an active recovery class that will guide you through a series of specific stretches that target major muscle groups, using TheraBands and rollers. This class will help you with tightness and imbalances in your body and improve your recovery.
TAI CHI will provide participants with instruction in a series of sequential movements designed to enhance balance, strength, and flexibility while relieving stress and muscle tension. Emphasis is on easy to learn, gentle, continuous movements that are safe and effective for beginners.
THERABAND is a class that will engage and target all major muscle groups in your body while incorporating the use of resistance bands. These bands will add extra tension and resistance to your exercises, helping you build strength, improve muscle definition, and boost overall endurance.
CHAIR YOGA is an introductory yoga practise designed by Lakshmi Voelker which incorporates the chair as a prop to assist with transition between Modern yoga postures. If you find it challenging transition through the up and down motions of traditional yoga, this class will support in increased flexibility, mobility, reduction in pain, and improved mental state.
YOGA (GENTLE FLOW)
GENTLE FLOW has an increased focus on mindful movement, breaking down the poses and sun salutations. You’ll be guided to calm the mind and incorporate breath with movement while strengthening, stretching and nourishing your body. Suitable for beginners and those returning to yoga after time off the mat, who are seeking a regular class that is gentle with less heat, and a perfect start point to explore the practise.
HATHA is a gradual paced style of practise which offers lengthened holds through asana, a combination of floor and standing. This class focusses on pose instruction and is a great class for anyone who is a beginner to yoga. Hatha is a more gentle style of yoga and a great class for all levels of fitness and ability.
KUNDALINI is a dynamic blend of postures, pranayama, mantra, meditation, and mudra. The practise supports in the art of relaxation, self-healing and supporting in the raising of kundalini energy.
YOGA (POWER FLOW)
POWER FLOW is a powerful, energetic form of yoga, where students fluidly move from each posture, connecting breath, and building heat in the body. It makes for a vigorous and revitalising form of practise, supporting in strength, flexibility, balance, cardio and physical and mental stability.
VINYASA is a creative flow, combining fluid movement which is accessible yoga poses around an emphasis on linking breath with movement to nourish the mind, body and soul. You will explore pranayama, and mindfulness meditation.
YIN consists of introspective Yin-style poses that are held for 1-5 minutes to unravel stored emotional, mental and physical tension. As fascia gradually releases, let yourself relax and unwind with this deeply nourishing and grounding practice.
Connect30 is Yawa's own designed series of 30 minute workouts, that are offered in 6 styles: Aerobic, Functional, Resistance, Power & Speed. Connect30 combines elements of high intensity interval training (HIIT), Circuit training, functional training. These classes are for everyone, and will build muscle, burn fat and boost metabolism
CONNECT30 AEROBIC is a class that will get your heart pumping for longer durations of work time, this class will help you increase your overall fitness.
CONNECT30 FUCTIONAL is a mixture of bodyweight functional movements & equipment that will help you improve mobility and strength.
CONNECT30 RESISTANCE is a full body resistance training class that will help with overall strength & feeling fit.
CONNECT30 POWER is a class full of explosive movements mixed with bodyweight exercises to help with your POWER.
CONNECT30 SPEED is a class that will get your heart racing & those fast twitch fibres in use! If you HIIT style classes, then this class is for you.
CONNECT30 TEEN is a class designed for the younger demographic aged 12-16 years. In this class, you will learn the correct technique and form. You will get a full body workout that will target each muscle group.
REFORMER PILATES (FACE-TO-FACE)
REFORMER INTRO is the perfect class for anyone who is experiencing reformer pilates for the first time or anyone who has spent some time away and would like re-educate their knowledge of the reformer pilates bed and the correct techniques used.
REFORMER allows you to learn the method using bodyweight training and different spring tensions on the reformer pilates bed to sculpt and tone your body. These mixed level exercises are delivered in a layered format, so that proper technique and skill level is catered for, to build the confidence to execute the movements safely and beneficially for the body.
REFORMER INTERMEDIATE is a class for anyone that wants to up the intensity of their reformer pilates classes and explore sequencing which is faster paced and powerful. We focus on abdominals, arms and lower body, building up strength and endurance. A fun workout for anyone up for the 45 minute challenge.
REFORMER PILATES (VIRTUAL)
CLASSIC CIRCLE is a 38 minute, beginner class. This classic flow class utilises the Pilates circle, challenging you with traditional exercises from top to toe.
INSPIRED TONE is a 42 minute, intermediate class. This inspired routine utilises the class reformer exercises, using dumbbells whilst completing challenging compound exercises.
INSPIRED REFORMER is a 44 minute, intermediate class. This full body routine showcases advanced exercises to challenge your strength and drive progress.
LOWER BODY TONE
LOWER BODY TONE is a 43 minute, intermediate class. This lower body focussed class targets primarily your lower body.
REFORMER BOX is a 44 minute, intermediate class. This inspired reformer class challenges balance and stability whilst performing strength focussed exercises.
REFORMER HIIT is a 40 minute, intermediate class. This class is a mix of classic Pilates & strength training, it is a high intensity class you'll learn to love.
REFORMER SHORT BOX
REFORMER SHORT BOX is a 46 minute, intermediate class. This class utilises the element of our short boxes in a full body routine that will work your body from head to toe.
REFORMER WITH CIRCLE
REFORMER WITH CIRCLE is a 39 minute, beginner class. A beautiful classic reformer routine utilising the Pilates circle for muscle recruitment.
TRADITIONAL REFORMER is a 42 minute, intermediate class. This classic reformer features exercises and flows that will leave the body feeling strong.
